What is the meaning of praying?
Praying, in the context of the Bible, is a form of communication with God. It involves expressing one's thoughts, feelings, requests, and worship to the divine. It's a way for individuals or humans to seek guidance, offer gratitude, confess sins, and connect spiritually with God at heaven.
Prayer is regarded as a means of building a personal relationship with God, seeking His guidance, and finding spiritual comfort. Different traditions within or out of Christianity may have varying practices and interpretations of prayer, but the essence is to communicate with God in a complete faith and humility.
As from the bible, a only way we easily conversate with GOD Himself is by praying, while other ways just rely informations, guidings or commands made by GOD. We have seen through dream GOD informs Joseph and other many people, through vision youths found their way and lastly through a man people got what was meant for them.
DISCUSION
1. Why should I pray?
Prayer holds significant importance in many religious traditions, including Christianity and muslim. And in some few explanations I can explain so as to make a necessity pray.
i.) Communication with God: Prayer is a only way to communicate with God. As stated in Philippians 4:6-7 (NIV), "Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus." So we can say, in order to live a fruitfull life we should depend on God and through prayers is where we found our hiden treasures.
ii.) Seeking Guidance: we can see many of succesful people are claimed to depend in satarnic ways to success, but have you ever think that God is so great and He can give us more than we ask for. All He needed is trust and communicating there comes praying Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) encourages trust in God through prayer: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
iii.) Strength and Comfort: when you ask many people what do they do when they are stressed, there answer are very obvious and some you had them already Hahaha! Don't worry! But many of them will say we talk to our friends, some they listen music and other dancing and many other stuffs. We as people who kept their trust in God in times of trouble or distress, prayer can provide strength and comfort. Psalm 34:17-18 (NIV) states, "The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears them; he delivers them from all their troubles. The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit."
iv.) Confession and Forgiveness: Confessing sins and seeking forgiveness is a common aspect of prayer in accordance to our connection with our helper as we always do what isn't needed to be done. 1 John 1:9 (NIV) assures, "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
v.) Expression of Gratitude: Anyone who helped someone else they would like to be given just gratitude, and it is the same to our God as He is a jealous God. Prayer can also be a means to express gratitude to God. 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18 (NIV) encourages thankfulness: "Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."
2. Why things seem the same?
Ecclesiastes 3 is a well-known chapter from the Bible that speaks about the cyclical and purposeful nature of life and it should be well understood since is the way of our daily life, by refering on verse 1 and 2:
[1] "To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:"
This verse emphasizes that there is a designated time and purpose for everything that occurs in life it doesn't matter if it will delay or came late by your perspective but God will never be late. It suggests that events and seasons are part of a divine plan or order.
[2] "A time to be born, and a time to die; a time to plant, and a time to pluck up that which is planted;"
This verse further elaborates on the idea of seasons and timing. It mentions specific pairs of contrasting actions to highlight the cycles of life. For example, there is a time for birth and a time for death, a time for planting and a time for harvesting. It underscores the inevitability and balance of these contrasting experiences in the course of human existence and in addition we should understand that there is a time that we will have something and sometime we will have nothing.
